Portrait of John Hackett duotone, graphite and acrylic on paper, 20" x 28", 1997
Korál accepts portrait commissions. Each project is approached on an individual basis. It is a collaborative effort between the subject and the artist. Everyone has a story to tell. A portrait commission is an opportunity for Korál to help someone tell their story.
Some portraits are traditional. Others can be painted in the style of a particular time period in the artist's development.
Fees are based on size and medium, with oil on canvas being the most dear and pencil, the most economical. Layered pencil with dark washes and light highlights on a midtone background is referred to as a "duotone". This is how the artist renders his studies, and it has become a very popular choice for portraits when oil on canvas may be too much.
