Don Quixote, oil on canvas, 50" x 72", 1992
Don Quixote is the archetypal dreamer who empowers the awakening observer.
Here the dreamer is found charging toward the windmill, which apears, in his delusion, to be a terrible ogre.
The windmill could be symbolic of the "daily grind", which for many, could be likened to an ogre.
So then, is Don Quixote really so crazy to challenge it?
The artist discovered this character through his participation
in the musical theatre production of "Man of La Mancha".
Koral played the role of Pedro, the muleteer.
This image and many others are available as fine art prints.
