Cha Cha Study #4 acrylic on paper, 10" x 14", 2009 Cha Cha is the cheeky dance of flirtation. However, there are moments when the strict staccato rhythm can become powerful and dramatic. As a social dance, Cha Cha Cha is always fun, although as a competitive dance, it can quickly become highly demanding. It was particularly challenging to depict this dance for various reasons. For one, it is danced predominantly on straight legs, with rapid foot work. In a static image, it doesn't look like much.
